How To Create A Pdf In Bridge

Contact sheets in Adobe Bridge CC

Contact sheets are a great way to gather groups of images for inspiration, reference or comparison and Adobe Bridge has a handy feature to help create contact sheets for you with just a few clicks.

Older versions of Adobe Bridge had a great feature for creating contact sheets, pdf presentations and web galleries but when Bridge CC shipped, they left out this feature.

You could still use the Photoshop Contact Sheets II option under Tools / Photoshop / Contact Sheets II … however, the options are limited and it can't produce a single multi page PDF for you.

Luckily you can install the Adobe Output Module plugin for Bridge CC to get this feature back.

Install the Adobe Output Module Plugin

First quit Adobe Bridge CC if it is running.

Next you'll have to download the Adobe Output Module from this link.

Download the appropriate version of the plugin (I'm on a Mac so I chose AOM_Mac_New.zip).

Instructions taken straight from the Adobe Website here:

Double-click the downloaded file to decompress it. Open the resulting AOM_Package_Mac, AOM_Package_Win64, or AOM_Package_Win32 folder. This folder contains:
* the Adobe Output Module folder
* the AdobeOutputModule.workspace file

Copy the Adobe Output Module folder (not the AOM_Package_[OS] folder) into the Bridge CC Extensions folder in the appropriate location:
* Windows: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Bridge CC Extensions
* Mac OS: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Bridge CC Extensions

Bridge Extensions folder

* Note that you will need to click on Authenticate and enter an Administrative Username and Password.

Authenticate to install the Adobe Output Module folder
Copy the AdobeOutputModule.workspace file into the Workspaces folder under the Bridge CC Extensions folder (same folder as referenced in step 2).
AdobeOutputMoule.workspace

Finally start Adobe Bridge CC and you may see a message that says The Bridge extension "AdobeOutputModule" has been added to Bridge. Do you want to enable it now? Click Yes to enable it.

The Bridge Extensions

Create a contact sheet

Now that the Output Panel is installed lets create a contact sheet.

Select the Output Workspace under Window / Workspace / Output.

Output workspace

From the Folder Panel in Bridge, Navigate to a folder that has the images you want to collect into a contact sheet and select those images. You can also drag a Folder from your Desktop on top of the Bridge Application to open up that Folder in Bridge.
Select images for contact sheet

From the Output Panel choose PDF and you can select a Template for a preset layout.

Below that set Document options such as paper size, orientation, quality, background color and even set a password for security.
Document options

Under Layout choose how you want to lay out the images. I set up 6 columns and 2 rows since it is a landscape layout. You can choose Rotate for Best fit to help with different aspect ratios of the images.
Layout options

Next is Overlays where you can choose to show filenames, and page numbers.
Overlays options

Below that you'll find Header options in the event that you want to add header info. Ill be adding the header Spring 2016 Crochet Dresses with a larger font size of 24pt. I also gave the header a little more height under the Distance box.
Header info

After Header is an option for Footer where you have many options for displaying Footer information.
Footer information

Followed by that is Watermark where you can add a Text or Image watermark.
Watermark options

Press Save to save the PDF and thats all thats too it.

Save the contact sheet

Here is the Contact sheet that I made which ended up being 3 pages.
